Race to Restore

National Geographic’s Race to Restore began with the need to call attention and create a sense of urgency.

Using a custom type, built from the proportions of the iconic frame and designed to work in a numerical counter, served as the foundation for the expression.

Geometric, yet dynamic and easily animated, the type can be applied to simplified character designs for other alphabets and global audiences.

The underlying structure of the type has a reference to the latitudinal and longitudinal lines of globe.
