Race to Restore was created to spotlight Earth’s last wild places, ignite a sense of awe, urgency, and action.

A display type, constructed from the mechanics of a travel board, and designed to animate as coordinates, signaled the themes of time and destination.

This type, built from the proportions of the iconic frame and designed to work in a numerical counter, served as the expression’s foundation. It was critical that the additional design didn’t conflict with National Geographic’s existing brand standards.

Geometric, yet dynamic and easily animated, the type can be applied to simplified character designs for other alphabets and global audiences.
